The 2017 Running Awards

To think my little blog was up on a running awards site so long ago now (well it feels like it) was amazing up there with the 85 or so other running blogs I have to admit i felt a little pride rush over me. Now to think in January I found out I had been shortlisted with 11 other Fantastic blogs was truly surreal. On Thursday the 20th of April accompanied by my biggest fan and Fiancé Judy were standing outside the 02 arena about to enter an awards ceremony that I was apart of is something I will not forget in a hurry!

We both entered the indigo bar where It was great to meet fellow runner and bloggers who I had only ever had the privilege to speak to on social media was a highlight of the night for me. Meeting Roger From Irunoffroad which was the first blog I ever read and gave me the inspiration to start my own (Thanks Rog) along with Paul, Darren, Mark to name a few was fantastic.

We were then taken down to our table and the show began with Mike Bushell handing out the awards. Then the most memorable part of the night came around and as the screen changed to show all the shortlisted blogs and there it was Gingerrunningman.com up there with the best I would be lying if I didn’t say I was so nervous! Rightly so Ben from the 401 won gold a very shocked Scotsman Mark Gallaher won Silver and Gemma won bronze and they were all well deserved in my eyes and what a brilliant trio to win.

With great conversation comes great ideas and it was nice to talk to other fellow bloggers about the two things we all love Running and Blogging about it. it was a night that if you had told me a year and half ago that I would be I would have laughed it off and thought you were joking but a massive thank you to not only everyone that voted for me but for everyone that reads my blog and follows me on twitter. Its been an amazing journey and one that I cannot wait to see where it takes me.

All in all a fantastic night in great company thanks to Judy, Roger (Irunoffroad), Mark Gallacher and all the other bloggers that were there.
