Now I do not normally start a review by telling you how good something is but Ultimate Direction have the holy grail of vests in the form of there new Jurek FKT Vest!
Ultimate Direction and Scott Jurek are back again with a new line of vests and belts. I managed to get my hands on the new FKT Vest and it did not disappoint in the slightest. A pack that looks the part but also comes with ample room and two of there new Flexform 600ml bottles.
First the vest itself is superbly made and feels comfortable once on. With … Pockets there is enough room to place anything you need with in arms reach. In front of the bottles there are 2 compartments perfect for gels or food. on the left hand side there is a large zipped pocket with an outer elasticated pocket. On the right there is a small pocket with Velcro to keep valuables in and an elasticated pocket There are also to large zipped pockets on either side. They really have made this vest so that everything is at your fingertips as you can store Poles upfront ready to deploy at a moments notice.
The 2 large compartments on the back are big enough to fit in anything you might need with room for a water reservoir as well. It has points on either side for the water hose to go over or under. The bungee system is also great for either compression or any kit that you cant fit in the pack.
Flexform Bottles are great to see as I have never got on with the old UD bottles and struggled to get enough water flow. That has now all changed 600ml bottles are designed well so that they fit into your hand. They are easy to clean and fill up with a big top.
- Features the new FlexForm Bottles
- Reservoir hose routing for either over or under your shoulder, left or right side
- Trekking pole holders are up front for on-the-go accessibility
- Large front storage for water, phone, maps or food
- Main compartment has bungee system to compress kit.
Would I recommend this to other runners? You bet I would and I can see this becoming an extremely popular race vest for Ultras this year.
